Storism Glossary

Installation & display terms

Learn about the code that displays Storism on your site, allowed domains, previews before publication, and the conditions for displaying content.

Flow

The basic steps to display the widget

Create a collection in Studio, configure allowed domains, and add the generated embed code to your site. Checking a preview before publishing makes it easier to understand the display conditions.

  1. Get the code
  2. Allow the domain
  3. Install on your site
  4. Check the display

Embed Code

The code you paste into your site to display the Storism widget.

  • The code is generated on the Embed Code tab in a collection's detail screen in Studio.
  • The current official embed code consists of two lines.
  • You do not write an iframe directly on your site. The script creates the iframe automatically.

The collection attribute is the public collection ID generated by Studio, not the internal ID. The lang attribute selects the widget UI language. Changing the Studio language later does not change code already copied to your site. If lang is omitted, the widget uses Japanese.

Allowed domains

A setting that registers the parent page origins allowed to load widget data.

  • In Settings, register an origin starting with https://, such as https://example.com.
  • Ports may range from 1 to 65535. URLs with different ports are different origins and must be registered separately.
  • Paths, queries, hashes, trailing slashes, and wildcards are not supported. For example, https://example.com/shop and https://*.example.com are not valid entries.
  • Subdomains must also be registered separately, such as https://shop.example.com.

On an unregistered origin, widget data will not load even if the iframe is created. Studio previews and localhost are exceptions for testing.

Preview

A Studio feature for checking how a published collection will look in the widget before installing it on your site.

  • Previews load display data from the actual collection. Unpublished content and content scheduled for a future time are not displayed.
  • While preview=true, widget analytics events such as views, opens, and clicks are not sent.
  • You can also check the fullscreen appearance, which is reproduced within the preview iframe in Studio.

The Studio preview does not validate the allowed-domain settings for your destination site. Displaying the widget on the actual site requires installing the embed code and registering that site's domain.

Display conditions

The conditions that determine whether content appears in the widget on your site.

  • Widget data loads only when the collection specified by the embed code's collection attribute is published.
  • Only published stories with at least one published media item whose scheduled publication time has arrived are displayed.
  • A story with no displayable media items is also omitted from the story list.
  • Unpublished products are excluded from product cards. Unpublishing a product does not make the media itself unavailable for display.

If the widget does not appear, check the collection value in the embed code, collection publication status, allowed domains, and displayable stories and media, in that order.

Display settings

Settings that adjust the widget's appearance and media playback duration.

  • You can set the image display duration, maximum video playback duration, and whether and when the full video button appears.
  • The Pro plan lets you adjust the story circle border color, list background color, and story name text color.
  • The Storism logo appears on desktop with Free and Lite, and is automatically hidden with Pro.

Display duration and the full video button are available on all plans. There is no separate setting to toggle Storism branding.
